This project began as a memorial to Sully, a large breed dog, who, like other large breed dogs in shelters, faced being overlooked or ignored because of their size. Along came Brenda, who rescued Sully. Sully became the ambassador for the over 50 foster dogs that came through their home, teaching them the ways of being "dog" and welcoming and loving all the friends who entered his life, whether human or canine. Corgipalooza is working toward building the facilities to save, rehabilitate and rescue large-breed dogs in honor of Sully. Won't you help us save these loving souls by donating to Sully's Stables?

Corgipalooza began solely as a rescue organization for Corgis. It soon became obvious with the overcrowding in shelters and increasing number of surrenders that we needed to expand our scope to Corgis and pals. One of the greatest needs was the rescue and rehab of large dogs. Too often potential adopters look past large dogs and turn their focus to smaller dogs simply because of their size or what they consider to be wrong behavior. Corgipalooza is looking to expand its ability to take in, house and work with the larger dogs so that they can be put on a more equal ground with their smaller counterparts and have a stronger opportunity to find their furever home.

In Honor of Sully

Picture

Sully

Sully was an adopted dog who showed everyone just how easy it was to give love unconditionally. It is in his honor that we are beginning this project in order to save more large breed dogs and give them the start down the road to the life they so richly deserve.

Phase 1

Phase 1 is the beginning of the structure that will eventually become a combined housing area for the dogs and a second level bunkhouse for the volunteers.

Phase 2

Phase 2 of the project will see the completion of the build - providing not only an extended ground floor area to house the dogs, but includes a second story bunkhouse for foster volunteers when they attend the workshops.
